New Mental Health Outreach – Kinross High School

We are thrilled to announce to our new outreach space at Kinross High School.

In collaboration with KYTHE and supported by Kinross Rotary, we are excited to announce a new mental health drop-in and one-to-one support hub for anyone aged 12+, who is at risk of self-harm and suicide.

This project comes after months of research and collaboration with multiple third-sector agencies and educational psychologists. It means that the children of Kinross and the surrounding area have a safe space to  learn about, and find tools to manage their mental health – and most importantly, receive help if they are in crisis.

The drop-in sessions will be open every Monday during school term, between 12-4pm, and will be based in the KYTHE hub. Our drop-in hub will be staffed by a specialist mental health youth worker, who will be supported by experienced volunteers from the Rotary Club of Kinross & District. Additionally, the 1-2-1 crisis management sessions will take place in school, and is accessed through a referral from your school Guidance Team,  or by presenting to our drop-in space in crisis.

The project is welcomed and supported by Kinross High School, who have also began to help recruit their very own mental health ambassadors to assist with the project. Additionally, our mental health drop-in will allow young people to drop-in and to access information and resources that could support their mental health and wellbeing.

We hope that this hub becomes a one-shop-stop for young people in Kinross and the surrounding areas, and help prevent needless loss of lives to suicide.
